Through some reliable sources, we have come to know that the all new Volvo XC60 will be launched in India in September 2017. Volvo has confirmed that the XC60 will be brought to India as a CKD unit. However, it is expected that the first lot of the cars sold will be CBU (completely built up) units.
The new Volvo XC60 will be available in India only in one variant, that is, the Inscription variant. It will be getting features like Bowers & Wilkins audio system and Nappa leather coating in the interiors. On the outside, it will be getting 19-inch alloy wheels and air suspension. It will also be getting an AWD (all wheel drive) drivetrain.
The Inscription version of the Volvo XC60 will have a 2.0-litre D5 diesel engine under the hood. It will be capable of making a maximum power of 235 bhp and will have an edge over its competitors in this regards. More powerful T6 petrol (320 bhp power) engine and T8 petrol hybrid (407 bhp) may also be on the cards but at a later stage.
The Volvo XC60 will be competing against the likes of BMW X3, Audi Q3 and the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. Keeping the competition in minds, the Volvo car is expected to be priced at around Rs. 50-55 lakhs (exclusive showroom in Delhi) for the only Inscription trim.
